SHREVEPORT LA- A funeral service celebrating the life of Maxine L. Cooper-Rivers (90) will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 11:00 am. A visitation will be held on the day of the service from 9-11:00 am, for friends and family. The burial will take place at Forest Park West following the service.

Mrs. Maxine was preceded in death by father, Norman Maxey; mother, Ollie Tuppen; grandson, Ricky Turner; brothers, Emmett and Toney Maxey.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Joe W. Cooper and wife, Dolly Cooper; daughter, Elaine Walton; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 great, great grandchildren. Honoring her as pallbearers are: Joe Cooper Jr, David B. Cooper, Robbie Johnson, Brandon Cooper, Bobbie Johnson, and Dylan Schildt.

Born January 22, 1926 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 30, 2016. Anyone who met Mrs. Maxine would tell you she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, she was as feisty as the day is long, and she pulled no punches. They would also tell you that she had a soft spot for her family, especially her grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to The Life Path Hospice Care and Magnolia Manor Nursing and Rehab, who were Mrs. Maxine’s second family.
