GLENNS FERRY — Arthur Howard, 86, Glenns Ferry, died Sunday evening in a Mountain Home hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 2, 1882, in Colorado Springs, Colo., and came with his parents at an early age to Rocky Bar. He spent the rest of his life in the Elmore County area around Glenns Ferry.
He worked as a buckaroo for several Elmore County ranchers. In later years, he worked at the Wilbur Wilson ranch.
He is survived by one brother, Earl Howard, Oroville, Calif., and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Glenn Rest, with Rev. Dwight E. Witcher, Glenns Ferry Methodist Church, officiating.
Cortege will leave Glenns Ferry's Smith Chapel at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.
