Timothy William Ryan, formerly of Southport, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2010 at Middlesex Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born January 6, 1942 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late William James and Kathryn Hanley Ryan of Stratford. Mr. Ryan is an alumnus of Fairfield Prep and Boston College and spent two years in the Peace Corps in Ghana, Africa. He worked as a financial analyst with Norden Industries in Norwalk for several years. Surviving are two sisters, Peggy Brenton of Southport and Susan R. Ford and her husband, Lawrence, of Allegany, NY; two nieces and six nephews and the caring family of Andrew Rusnak of S. Glastonbury. Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 5, at Assumption Church in Fairfield at 4 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m. Rev. Larry Ford, OFM will be the celebrant. Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, at the convenience of the family. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Archbishop Walsh High School, 208 N. 24th Street, Olean, NY 14760.
