The Rev. Charles H. Mullen, 85, of Harrisville, W.Va., went to his heavenly home on Dec. 30, 2016, at his residence.

He was born April 1, 1931, near Fall Run, Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Charles and Margaret Mullen.

Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Mullen; son, Bruce Mullen (Darlene), and daughter, Rebecca Griffith (Roy), both of Harrisville, W.Va., and son, Doug Mullen (Vickie) of Cantonment, Fla.; grandchildren, Craig Mullen (Jenny), Harrisville, Jill Bumgarner (Jake), Elizabeth, W.Va., Megan Jones (Chris), Shinnston, W.Va., Mallory Beck (Chris), Williamstown, W.Va., Aaron Mullen (Monica), Bentonville, Ark., and Sam Mullen, Cantonment, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Anthony Mullen, Adelyn and Lylah Bumgarner, Dallas and Sadie Jones, Charlie Beck and Carson Mullen.

Also surviving are brothers, Richard (Jean), Reedy, W.Va., Randall (Ernestine), Reedy, W.Va., and Paul (Pattie), Missouri; sisters, Cathy Daggett (Terry), Mineral Wells, W.Va., Loretta Daniel (Tom), Belpre, Ohio, and Ruth Martin (Bob), Parkersburg, W.Va.; and sister-in-law, Jean Mullen, Mineral Wells, W.Va., and their families.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Cliff, Clarence and Webb Mullen; and his parents.

Charles attended Leachtown School and Parkersburg High School and served his country as a U.S. Marine in the Korean Conflict (Purple Heart recipient). He was a faithful servant to his God as an American Baptist minister in Smithville, Auburn, Troy and Rock Grove. Charles and Marie served as independent missionaries in South Korea for 10 years and later founded the Fall Run Community Church and a campground ministry in Silver Springs, Fla. After retirement he was a member of and attended Harrisville Baptist Church.

Prior to answering the call to the ministry, Charles and family owned and operated Iron Farm Auto Wrecking, Harrisville, WVa., and was active in Gideons International travelling throughout the state presenting the need for Bibles to be distributed all over the world as well as serving as state treasurer.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, W.Va., with Pastor Robert Perine officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
