Keith E. Fischer, 23, of 9429 Highway 151, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning as the result of an accidental drowning.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. The Rev. Keith A. Haberkorn will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Fischer was born May 10, 1956, in Manitowoc, son of Eugene W. and Bernice R. Behnke Fischer. He was educated in Manitowoc County, attended St. John Lutheran School and was graduated from Manitowoc Lutheran High School with the Class of 1974. July 10, 1976, he married Shann Schmidt in Manitowoc. Mr. Fischer was a
dairy farmer, director of Manitowoc County Holstein Association, secretary-treasurer of the local Manitowoc and Calumet County group of the Michigan Animal Breeders Corporation, dairy project leader for River Road Rockets 4-H Club, former member of the club and a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shann, two sons, Bryce Eugene and Bret Raymond at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Fischer of Manitowoc; a brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Tracy Fischer of Manitowoc; a sister, Bonnie Jean Fischer of Manitowoc; paternal grandfather, Reinhardt Fischer of Manitowoc and maternal grandfather, Henry Behnke of Marinette, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Ann Schmidt of Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. His grandmothers and a nephew preceded him in death.
Friends may call in Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 6 o'clock this Monday evening and in the church from noon Tuesday until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Manitowoc Lutheran High School or St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.
