Alyce M. Gilmore, 93, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Harmony Center of the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon.

Born Aug. 10, 1907, in Pekin to George J. and Alice Baldwin Saal, she married Edward A. Gilmore on June 12, 1931, in Peoria. He died March 11, 1988, in Pekin.

She also was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are one son, Edward Jr. (and Claire), and one daughter, Alice 'Mitzie' (and Ken) Cottet.

She worked at Saal's Patti Cake Bake Shoppe.

She volunteered with the Red Cross during World War II.

Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
