Death of Geo. W. Shore
It is with feelings of the deepest regret that we announce the death of George W. Shore, son of Supervisor R.E. Shore, which occurred on last Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock.
Some four or five weeks ago, the deceased, in company with several companions, started on a hunting trip up in Oregon. It seems that the party were exposed to many privations, having to camp out in very inclement weather, and out of this exposure George contracted a severe attack of inflammation of the bowels. He was brought home, and everything that loving hearts could do for him was done. The inflammation, however, turned into congestion of the lungs and heart, and although on Tuesday he was so much improved that his recovery was only looked upon as a matter of time, yet, on Wednesday, he took a change for the worse, and calmly and peacefully passed away on wWednesday evening, after an illness of ten days.
Deceased was a native of this State, aged 23, and was a bright, generous whole-souled fellow that linked his friends to him, by his genial companionable qualitiess, as if by hooks of steel. It is sad, indeed, to see so bright a future cut short by the fell destroyer, and the sympathy of the entire community goes out to the sorrowing father and relatives.
The funeral takes place this morning from his late residence, San Felipe, at 10 o'clock.
