Benjamin F. Buckner's obituary stated that he was married in 1902 to Emma Sullivan Canoy. From Sheila Tyree Wood, "Emma Catherine Buckner was the daughter of Major James Lawrence and Martha (Pastsy) Jackson Sullivan. Emma's 1st husband was John Canoy. He died in 1900 and is buried in the Merrill Cemetery. Emma and John were the parents of nine children and two children born to Emma and Benjamin. Her full name may have been Emily.
