Charles Claibourne, age 72 of Garland, passed away January 1, 2017, at his home after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Dallas on April 23, 1944, to Sylvester and Eura (O'Dell) Claibourne. He was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church for over 20 years and was retired from AT&T with over 33 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was devoted to his family. He was, most importantly, a believer in Christ, giving his life to the Good Shepherd in 1996. We know he is now with Jesus, no longer in pain, but experiencing the love of Christ face-to-face, and we rejoice in that sure knowledge.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother Ted; he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kelly; his sister Sylvia Mullins and her husband G; his children Dawn Claibourne, and Amber Claibourne Pappas and her husband Steve; three grandchildren, Stephanie Pappas-Hulon, Ashley Pappas and Marc Pappas.

Funeral Services will be held at Restland Memorial Park in the Wildwood Chapel on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 3:00 PM. Burial will be at Restland in the Court of Serenity.
