Ms. Mees, a native of Honolulu, HI was retired from Gwinnett County Public School System where she taught elementary school and Latin in Lilburn and Duluth. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia, an artist and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville for over 50 years.
She is survived by: Sons: Doctor Donald E. “Rick” and Jan Mees, Atlanta; Philip H. and Theresa Mees, Dawsonville; Curtis A. Mees, Lawrenceville; Daughters: Dr. Andrea M. & Norris Garmon, Lawrenceville; Donna M. & Kenneth DeMarcus, Lawrenceville; 9 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; One Great Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Maj. Gen. Donald Erich Mees.
