Wilma Arthur Castle,76, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
She was born Dec. 18, 1940, the daughter of the late Albert Arthur and Louise Fain Arthur. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Doris Blanton, Bethany Holbrook, Faye Holbrook and Maye Arthur; brothers Clyde, James Paul, William, Carl and Harold (Doris Ann) Arthur; brothers-in-law, John Patrick, Dick Riffitt, Jack Gentry and Ralph Holbrook; and niece and nephew, Debbie Johnson and Brad Gentry.
Wilma was a former home health aid for 23 years and worked at Wilson's Sporting Goods in Ironton, Ohio for 12 years. She attended Ashland City Schools and loved to sew, craft and travel. The Lord saved her soul in 1980 and she attended Sheridan Freewill Baptist Church in South Point, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William Castle; a son and daughter-in-law, Glendal and Susan Castle, son and daughter-in-law, Michael Shannon and Christy Castle; three sisters, Lorraine Patrick, Alma Riffitt of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Daphne Gentry (Tim Holbrook); a brother, Tony and Darlene Arthur; grandchildren Nathan (Shayla) Castle, Kelsie (Douglas) Crabtree, Miranda (Michael) Boyd, Ben (Makayla) Castle, Austin, Hannah, Noah, Isaiah, Braxton and Kherington Castle; five great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Jimmy Blanton, Dallas Holbrook, Wayne (Sharon) Castle, Marvin (Debbie) Castle, Bob (Diane) Castle, and Roger (Tina) Castle; sister-in-law, Diane Castle; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home in Ironton with Pastor Randy Patrick and Pastor Phillip Stapleton officiating.
