Obituary: Jessie Purssell Park Knipe (Mrs. Harold), beloved wife of the late Harold Knipe of Willowdale District, Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Nursing Home on August 24, 1992, at the age of 93 years. Jessie was born December 29, 1898 in London, England. She immigrated with her parents Robert Bald Park and Kendall Sarah Purssell Park to Innisfail Alberta Canada in 1900. Jessie's father raised Clydesdale horses until his death in 1913. Her mother remained on the Innisfail homestead until her death in 1954. Jessie was united in marriage to Harold Knipe on April 15, 1925 at Innisfail. Jessie and Harold farmed in the Innisfail District until 1935, the Lacombe District until 1950, and finally the Willowdale District from 1950-1987. At this time, Jessie and Harold moved to the Red Deer Nursing Home. She is survived by a son Lester of Red Deer and a son Walter of Grand Forks North Dakota, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Jessie will be lovingly remembered. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Harold on February 5, 1990, and her five brothers Robert, Percy, Thomas, Walter and James. Funeral services will be held at the Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer, on Friday, August 28, 1992 at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. William MacKenzie officiating. Internment will follow in the Alto-Reste Memorial Gardens. If friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Willowdale Community Center or the Red Deer Nursing Home. Special thanks to all the staff at the Red Deer Nursing Home for the loving care so graciously provided to our dear Jessie. Arrangements in care of Eventide Funeral Chapels, Red Deer.
