Jean was born on May 3, 1934 in Raeford, to the late James Reese and Katie (Shaw) Baxley. On January 25, 1953 she married her loving husband of 63 years, William “Billy” Malcolm Clark, Jr. who survives. Also surviving are her four daughters, Susan (Thomas) Klopfenstein of South Bend, IN, Beth (Charles) Landis of Cornelius, NC, Laurie (James) Edwards of Fayetteville, and Amy (Walter) Harrison of Brentwood, TN. She also leaves behind her seven grandchildren, Zachary Howell, Emily Gilbertson, Joshua Howell, Morgan Howell, Thomas Klopfenstein, Drew Comer, and Olivia Klopfenstein and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Eleanor. She is survived as well by two sisters, Sue Huffman of Raeford, and Faye Maxwell of Morehead City, and one brother, Duncan Baxley of Fayetteville. She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Jean was a member of Camp Ground United Methodist Church and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. The family wishes to express their gratefulness to Eileen DeBruhl for the loving care given to Mrs. Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 6, 2017 in Camp Ground United Methodist Church with Reverend John Blackmon and Reverend Thomas Greener officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 in the Jernigan Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey
