In July of 1950, several of the Renner children became ill with pneumonia and were hospitalized. Roger's younger sister Ina died on July 25th.
Roger was spared from the disease. At the time, however, he was ill with rheumatic fever.
He passed away the morning of August 23, 1950 from rheumatic carditis. He was seventeen years old.
