Charles Duane Collins, age 78, of Wildwood, Texas died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Collins was born February 13, 1938 to Esker and Laura Mae Murphy Collins in Odessa, Texas.

He was a Lab Technician for Houston Chemical starting six months after the plant opened until one year before it closed due to hurricane damage. He was an Army veteran, a longtime resident of Lumberton, Texas and a member of Wildwood Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Greer Collins of Wildwood, Texas, his daughters, Cheryl Harper and husband, Scott of Houston, Texas, Christy Collins of Phoenix, Arizona and Angie Purvis and husband, Tom of Terre Haute, Indiana. He is also survived by his brother, Leon Collins of Kountze, Texas and his sister, Vera Collins of Houston, Texas and four grandchildren, Lyndsee Vincent, Kaileigh Vincent, MacKenzie Harper and Brayden Vincent.

Visitation will be from 11am until service time, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral service will be held at 1Pm Friday, January 6, 2017at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas.

Burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery in Milam, Texas in Sabine County ~
