OLD TOWN - Chauncey Bowley, 83, died Saturday in a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born April 14, 1880 at Alton, son of Hiram and Romie Curtis Bowley and had lived here most of his life. He was employed for several years by the American Woolen Co. here and earlier had been a store clerk. Surviving are 16 nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at 24 High St. here. The Rev. John Jordan will officiate and interment will be in the Alton cemetery.

Funeral services for Chauncey Bowley were held Monday afternoon at the Craig Funeral Home. the Rev. John H. Jordan of the Old Town Methodist Church officiated. Mr. Bowley, 83, died Saturday morning in a Bangor hospital after an illness of several months. he was born in Alton, April 14, 1880, a son of Hiram and Roanie Curtis Bowley. he attended school in Argyle, later was employed as a store clerk in Argyle and also in Costigam, for a number of years he worked at the former American Woolen Company. He had lived most of his life in Old Town and Argyle. Mr. Bowley is survived by 16 nieces and nephews, all living in Maine. Interment was in family lot in Alton Cemetery.
