Agripino Baterina Torres was born on November 9, 1898 in Sison, Pangasinan, Philippines to Francisca Baterina and Toribio Rivera Torres. He was their eldest son.

NOTE: November listed on his WW2 Registration Card, his Naturalization Paperwork, and Social Security Paperwork. March is only listed on his headstone application, which was submitted by a nonfamily member.

He was married at least five times: (1) Maria in the Philippines; (2) Maria De Vera in the Philippines; (3) Kathleen in Illinois; ;(4) Laura Cames in Illinois; and Janet D, who is listed in the 1950 Census .

With his first wife, Maria, he had four sons.
He next married Maria De Vera and had another son. At the age of 36, he borrowed money from his wife's family to immigrate to the United States, promising to send for his wife and infant son.

He never returned.
