Irva Mae Bealer, 87, of Rock Island, IL, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Bethel Assembly of God.

Irva was born on September 21, 1929, in Buffalo Prairie Township, IL, the daughter of Custer Wayne and Berniece Corwin. She married Robert E. Bealer on December 10, 1949, at Bethel Assembly of God in Rock Island, IL, and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2000. Irva worked for Eagle’s Warehouse and later for the former Eagle’s Grocery.

Irva attended Bethel Assembly of God in Rock Island. She was dedicated to serving God and cherished her family. She enjoyed singing gospel music and playing the organ. Irva also very much loved to fish with her husband.

Survivors include her 4 children, Sharon (Theron “Jeff”) Jeffery, Glen Rock, PA, Larry (Patricia) Bealer, Andalusia, IL, Karen (Jim) McDaniel, Moline, IL, and Dawn (David) Denison, Elburn, IL; she was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; sister, Charlene (Bruce) Lyon, Rock Island, IL; brother, Wayne Tompkins, Rock Island, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Roger Tompkins; sister, Dorothy Shehorn.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Hope Creek Care Center for their care and compassion.
