Title: Prominent Seminary Man Dies Very Suddenly

Beverly N. Cook died suddenly last Wednesday evening at his home in Seminary Township while milking. He had not been very well, but his death was a great shock to his family as there was no thought in their minds of its possibility so suddenly. The deceased was 63 years, 2 months, and 11 days of age. Coroner Shutt was called and the verdict of his jury was heart failure with complications.
Beverly Nelson Cook, son of John and Louraine Cook was born in Fayette County, Illinois, April 7, 1856.
After uniting in the bonds of holy matrimony with Miss Amy Julia Tucker, ten children were born to them, eight of whom with his wife survive, twins having died in infancy. The sons who remain are John M., Pearley W., Beverly N., Lora E., and Paul M. Cook. The daughters are Mrs. R. E. Tedrick, Mrs. G. R. Van-Horn, and Mrs. Clifford Hopkins. The deceased was a charter member of the Corinth Baptist church, having united with the Seminary Baptist church. His voice was last heard in his church on the Sunday night before his death when he slowly arose and testified to his faith in God. He was teacher of the Bible Class in Sunday School for about 18 years.
He leaves to mourn their loss besides his wife and children, three sisters, twenty grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Beverly Cook was a man who was held in highest esteem by all who knew him. He was an earnest, conscientious Christian, honorable in all his dealings and just to his fellowmen. In his death the community has lost a good citizen.
