A retired farmer, Mr. Castles was a native of Nebraska. He was the brother of Thomas F. Castles, a well-known Stockton musician who died here in 1959.
Alexander Castles did not play with the Castles family group here, but was a musician himself in his younger days in Oregon. He and his wife, Anna, had been married 63 years when she died in 1971.
Mr. Castles was a member of Annuciation parish here in California.
Surviving are his six children, Hugh Castles of Stockton, Leo Castles of Fresno, Paul and Lloyd Castles of Burns Oregon, and Pearl Nelson and Vivian Gover of Baker City Oregon.
