Son of Stephen Coert Van Voorhees and Willempie Roelofse Seubering.

Born circa 1650 at Netherlands.
Came to New Netherland circa 1660. Emigrated from before the village of Hees in the province of Drenthe, Holland, in April, 1660, in the ship "Bonte Koe" (Spotted Cow), Captain Pieter Lucassen.

Married Catalyn Hanse Van Nostrand, daughter of Hans Janszen Van Nostrand and Janneken Gerritse, circa 1676.

He and Catalyn Hanse were members of the at Reformed Protestant Dutch Church, Flatbush, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, in 1677 at Amersfort.
