Missouri Death Certificate #16565; Born in White County, TN; son of Simpson Clouse and Mary Dicy; informant was a W. M. Clouse. He is said to have been a big man with red hair, beard, & mustache. He was abt. 6 feet 6 inches tall.

(This may be the same person as listed in the Clouse Family Book; however the parents are different on the death certificate.)

"Very soon after being married, they moved to Missouri where they reared their family. According to a letter which was written by his youngest son to a distant cousin here in the early 1860's when Jim was about twelve years old, he left home to work for a man named Roberson on a 400 acre farm. When he was about twenty-eight years old, he left Tennessee and went to Missouri He was blind for eight years before his death."
