Georgie, 78 of Lake George, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Georgie was the son of Clare B. and Sarrah Elizabeth (Stacy) Allen.
On December 7, 1957 in East Lansing, Michigan, Mr. Allen was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Ms. Deanna May Scott. After thirty four years of marriage, Mrs. Scott preceded George in death in 1992.
Mr. Allen had resided in Lake George for several years, moving from Laingsburg, Michigan, previously coming from East Lansing and Kalkaska.
George enjoyed refinishing furniture, camping at Camp Thornapple Inc. located in Nashville, Michigan. Georgie also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and cheering for his beloved Detroit Tigers.
Surviving Mr. Allen are his loving children, one daughter, Penny Kelly of Holt, Michigan, three sons: George Allen and wife Aleta of Harrison, Clare Allen and wife Darla Brown of Allegan, Michigan and Brian Allen of Lansing, six grandchildren, fourteen great-grand children, his companion and close friend, Phyllis Kenny of Lake George, one sister, Marian Lacy of Gaylord, Michigan, several nieces and nephews and close friend, Kim.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Angi Helton, one brother, James G. Allen Sr. and his beloved cat, Tippy.
Funeral services honoring Mr. Allen was on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Pastor Peter Gellatt officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing.
