Josephine E. Opella, 90, of Wichita Falls, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Hoa Nguyen, pastor, celebrant. Rite of committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A daughter of the late Joseph and Eloise (Ziac) Ondricek, she was born Aug. 27, 1916, in Seymour, Texas. Mrs. Opella was a parishoner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Opella; a son, Jimmie Opella; a grandson, Mickey Meurer; her brothers, Stanley, Frank and Emil Ondricek; and her sisters, Lois Marak, Maryann Thomas and Emily Morris.

Survivors include her daughters, Alice Johnson of Austin and Barbara Meurer of Windthorst; sons, Bill Opella of Dallas; John Opella of Denton; and Dan Opella of Wichita Falls; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The Christian Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
