1. Ralph Hallett Armstrong - 72, of North Kingston, died Monday, August 18, 1980, in Wilmot. Born in North Kingston, he was a son of the late Hallett and Seffie (Eaton) Armstrong. He was well known for his breeding of dual-purpose Shorthorns and buying and selling cattle. His prize Shorthorns had been exhibited under Brookmont Farms for more than 30 years at exhibitions throughout Nova Scotia, the Royal Winter Fair, Toronto; and the 1980 World Shorthorn Congress, Calgary. He was a past president of the Nova Scotia Shorthorn Association, vice-president of the Annapolis County Exhibition, past-director of the Atlantic Winter Fair, and past director of the Maritime Shorthorn Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Ella Anna Stoddart; two daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Gerald Schofield), Kingston; and Marion (Mrs. Peter Floris), Brickton; a son, Marven, Kentville; a brother, Wilfred, Barrie, Mass.; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and an infant brother, Edward Manning. Burial in North Kingston Cemetery.
