January 31, 1925 - January 6, 2017

On January 6, 2017 we said "good-bye" to our beloved matriarch Elizabeth Camille Lundeen Yuhas who passed away peacefully at her home in Hurricane, Utah. She was born January 31, 1925 in Scooba, Mississippi and was raised in Mississippi and Alabama. She married Howard Kenneth Lundeen on November 22, 1945 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. They were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple. Together they raised five children: Pamela Jean Lundeen Larsen (David), Howard Kimro Lundeen (Jane), Kenneth David Lundeen, Kris Alan Lundeen (Melanie) and Kelvar James Lundeen (Tina) in Van Nuys California and Toquerville, Utah. They have 31 grandchildren and 84 great-grandchildren.
Camille earned her teaching degree in 1969 and taught English at Lawrence Junior High School in California and at Hurricane Middle School. In 1973, she opened the Educational Opportunity Center at Dixie College and taught ESL classes. She also sold real estate for ERA in the Southern Utah area and received the Woman of the Year award in 1976. From 1979-1981 she and Howard served as welfare service missionaries for the LDS Church in Cali, Columbia. After returning they served in the St. George Temple for many years. After Howard passed away in 1999, Camille served a mission at the Genealogical Library in Salt Lake City. When she returned to St. George, she served in the Member Locator Mission for several years. In 2006 she married Joseph Yuhas and they served a mission at the St. George Care Center. They then moved to Hurricane. Joseph passed away in December 2015.
Camille is survived by all of her children and grandchildren; her sisters, Dorothy Ann Brown of Alabama and Carolyn Gates of Tennessee; and her brother, Russell Gilbert of Washington.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS 17th Ward Chapel, 272 South 700 West, Hurricane, Utah. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to services in the Relief Society room. Interment will be in the Hurricane City Cemetery.
We express our deepest gratitude to all who have helped care for our special mother and grandmother.
