Margaret L. Swithers, age 90, of Bethany Courtyard, Horseheads, NY, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 3, 2008. The daughter of the late William H. and Lillian Day Ames. She is survived by son, Robert (June) Swithers; daughter, Janet S. Swithers; grandchildren, Dawn (Lee) Cheney, Robert Jr. (Carol) Swithers, Deane (Jeff) Gardner, Kelly (James) Wagner, Greg Swithers, Robert Seymour, Ashley Swithers; great-grandchildren, Phillip, Katherine, Stanley, Joshua, Madeline, Parker, and Avia. Also survived by sister, Lillian York; brother, John (Dorothy) Ames. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley L. Swithers; son, James E. Swithers; and grandson, Jamie Swithers. She was a member of the Pine City Woman's Auxiliary, Pine City, NY, was a lifelong member of Centenary United Methodist Church, enjoyed playing Euchre, and loved being with her children. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, on Sunday, July 6, 2008, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with Funeral and Committal Service there Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
