REV. MARVIN L. RASTL, 92, of Fort Wayne, entered eternal life on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home. Born March 14, 1924, in Birnamwood, Wis., he was a son of the late John and Hulda Rastl. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, he retired from full time ministry in 1989 after more than 45 years with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, serving churches in North Dakota, Wisconsin and Indiana. He is survived by his daughters, Lois (Philip) Cain of Fortson, Ga., Marlyss Smith of Franklin, Mass., Priscilla (David) Evans of Fort Wayne, Naomi (Leroy) Brown of Martinsville, and Ruth (Mark) Dixon of Clawson, Mich.; sons, Ronald Rastl of Fort Wayne and Rev. Nathan (Barbara) Rastl of Vincennes; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eunice W. Rastl; son, Luther Rastl; and granddaughter, Sherry Campbell. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1126 South Barr St., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan., 12, 2017, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Entombment in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Worship for Shut-ins or Concordia Theological Seminary.
