DEATH OF MRS. FOSS
The death of Mrs. C. E. Foss oc-
curred at Alpine on Dec.27. She was
buried in Mountain View cemetery at
that place Dec. 29. Mrs Foss was
the daughter of Charles G. Athern
and was born in Martha's Vineyard,
Mass., Jan. 19, 1845. Besides two
brothers and one sister, she leaves six
children-- Charles E., A. Percy, Harry
S., Helen P., J. Thaxter, and Robert B.
Foss. Mrs. Foss was a charter mem-
ber of the Congregational church in
Alpine and will be missed by her
many friends there.
