Samuel Wallace MacDowell Jr., 52, of Meriden, CT, passed away October 8th, 2015 surrounded by family.Known to his family and friends as Muca, Sam was born in Brasil but was raised in the United States by his father, Samuel Wallace MacDowell and his late mother, Myriam Ramos DaSilva MacDowell. He spent his early years living with his family in Princeton, NJ before moving to and settling in Woodbridge, CT. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys and he loved camping and travelling with his family. Muca served in both the Woodbridge Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department. He also worked for many years in the liquor industry. On October 3rd, 1992, he married his wife Laura Ann MacDowell (nee Mattson). They welcomed their first child, Nicole Ann, in 1995 and their second child, Ami Cristina, in 1996.Sam is preceded by his mother, Myriam Ramos DaSilva MacDowell. He is survived by his wife Laura MacDowell, his daughters Nicole and Ami MacDowell, his father Samuel MacDowell, his twin sister Maria Dolores MacDowell, his older sister Ana Myriam MacDowell, as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Family and friends are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life memorial will take place Saturday, October 24th at the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department Headquarters at 765 Amity Road, Bethany, CT starting at 3PM. The family asks that all guests wear either tyedye, Hawaiian shirts, New York Yankees jerseys/shirts or Dallas Cowboys jerseys/shirts.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
