Elizabeth's young life ended tragically the year of 1902. She suffered a seizure, falling into the burning fireplace. She was the first person to be buried in the Puerto Cemetery, leaving behind three small children.
Abner B "Ab" Clayton married Lura Tennessee "Tennie" Locklear (Elizabeth's sister)on 1904 in Tucumcari, New Mexico

Among the very first to come from Borden County to Puerto was Ab and Eliaz Locklear Clayton. Ab had worked as a cowboy on the Borden County ranches, and after their marriage, they had lived at the square and compass. He was in the Dairy business.
