Mrs. June H. Summers, 75, passed away on Friday afternoon, January 13, 2017, at Beacon Place. A private graveside service will be held on Monday. A Guilford County native, Mrs. Summers was born on July 7, 1941, the daughter of the late Lee and Christine Watkins Hudson. She grew up in Greensboro and was married to J. D. Summers on June 15, 1963. Their marriage spanned 52 years until Mr. Summers passed in November 2015. June's calling on earth was to love and care for her family. Special times were spent caring for her grandchildren. She was also an avid sports fan. Surviving are her daughters Carol Smith and her husband, Chris, of Summerfield and Elizabeth Overton and her companion Chris Holland of Raleigh; three grandchildren Nate Smith, Katie Smith and Olivia Overton; sisters Judy Hudson and Jane Baird of Greensboro; and brother Bennie Hudson and his wife Jeannie of Pleasant Garden. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Hudson. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 5 until 7 p.m. at Forbis & Dick Stokesdale.
