Nora L. Ames, a former missionary worker for the Latin American Missions and a resident of Mountain View for 60 years, died at her home in Mountain View on Sunday. She was 90.
Mrs. Ames, a native of London, England, was the wife of the late James C. Ames, who worked for many years at the Minton Lumber Co. in Mountain View and died last month. She worked as a missionary for the Latin American Missions at El Buen Pastor Church in Mountain View for 20 years. For the next 30 years, she was a volunteer Bible teacher for children at Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, and led many Sunday outings.
Mrs. Ames is survived by two sisters, Daisy Matthews and Eva Brogham of Paradise.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Mountain View Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries. Burial will be at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto.
