"Special to the Union. Quincy (Plumas Co.), May 10. — The funeral of John T. Sherman, a pioneer of Plumas county, took place yesterday and was attended by a large number. He was 82 years of age and came to Plumas county with the earliest pioneer's. engaging in mining at Poorman’s creek and at Butte bar on the middle fork of the Feather river. He leaves an aged widow and three sons, Otis S. Sherman, Roger D. Sherman, Leonard Sherman, all residents of this county."
