Funeral service for Melva “Jean” Blundell Ewbank will be 1:30 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Fairview, OK. Officiating is Reverend Derek Cox. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Melva Jean Blundell Ewbank was born October 3, 1933 in Hennepin, Oklahoma to L.Z. “Doc” and Addie Lee (McCaskill) Price. Jean passed away on January 15, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.Jean married Edward Allen Blundell on December 31, 1948 in Tussy, Oklahoma. She attended Pernell High School. They were blessed with three children: David Lee, Michael Wayne and Betty Jean.

Ed’s work in the oilfield took them from Pernell, Oklahoma to Breckenridge, Texas and Noble, Oklahoma, with the family settling in Fairview, Oklahoma in 1967. She was employed by several local businesses including C.R. Anthony’s, Ideal Grocery, and Coast to Coast. Through the years, Ed and Jean owned Mr. B’s Drive-In at Canton, Oklahoma and Queen’s Kitchen and Classic Inn in Fairview. Jean spent 30 years at the Queen’s Kitchen; it brought her great joy and she loved serving the local community there. She was well known in Fairview and the surrounding areas for her delicious pies.She married Wade Ewbank on January 16, 1999 in Fairview. Wade and Jean created a loving home and enjoyed a wonderful marriage during their years of retirement together. In 2014, she joined Wade at the Fairview Fellowship Home and recently moved to The Commons Nursing Home in Enid, Oklahoma.Jean was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairview. She will be remembered as an exceptional cook and baker, a hard worker and adept business owner, and, most of all, a kind, selfless person who loved her family above all else.

Jean was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Ed Blundell and Wade Ewbank, her parents, Doc and Addie Lee Price, sister, June Wiley, brother, Jim Price, stepson, Dennis Ewbank, and step-granddaughter Metisha Welsh.

She is survived by two sons; David Blundell and wife Connie of Fairview, Michael Blundell of Piedmont, and one daughter, Betty Kliewer and husband Randy of Fairview; step-children Shannon Kuhnemund and husband Daryl of Lahoma, Danny Ewbank and wife Barbara of Sand Springs; grandchildren Bill Blundell of Enid; Melissa Hakman and husband Greg of Mustang; Melinda Blundell of Dallas, Texas; Shelby Blundell of Chicago, Illinois; Bryan Blundell and wife Andrea of Cheney, Kansas; Shawn McDaniel and wife Oneka LaBennett of Ithaca, New York; Aaron Blundell of Oklahoma City; and Katie Blundell of Oklahoma City; step-grandchildren Chad Kliewer and wife Michele, JT Kliewer and wife Jamie, Jennifer Edwards and husband Jeffrey; Jessica Kuhnemund; Jon Kuhnemund, Regan Unruh and husband Jeremy, Chase Reames, and Chloe Ewbank; great-grandchildren Brittany Blundell, Zachary Blundell, Josh Blundell, Abigail Blundell, and Isabel Blundell; step-great-grandchildren Hudson, Davis and Isabelle Kliewer; Cooper, Olivia and Ellie Edwards; and Emmory and Libby Unruh; sister, Annise Hale and husband Don as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
