ROBERT S. ATWELL, 42, died at Deshon Veterans Hospital in Butler on Saturday, March 6, 1965 at 1:45 p.m. He was born in New Castle on March 3, 1923 to David R. and Alice Stafford Atwell. He married Mary Snyder on January 20, 1946. He was a New Castle fireman for 16 years.


Robert was a World War II Army veteran and served as a Tec Sergeant with the 882nd Bomb Squadron. He member Neshannock Post of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David and Bruce W. Atwell; his parents of New Castle; and two brothers, James V. and William Atwell, both of new Castle.
