Homer Burchess (Burke) Reppart, 86, of Emporia passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at his home.

Homer was born on November 1, 1930 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Homer L. and Irene Butters Reppart. He attended Topeka schools graduating with the class of 1948. He married to Norma Jean Mathew on November 4, 1955 in Oklahoma. She died on February 29, 2004 in Emporia.

Surviving family members include: daughters, Linda Kraus (Cecil Rash) of Topeka, Lisa Blevins of Emporia, and Janis Humber of Hartford; sister Donna Kristek of Lincolnville; brother Dr. John T. Reppart of Walnut Creek, CA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great,grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Vicki Shelton, grandchildren Cory, Ryan, and Ali, two infant great-grandchildren, brother Dr. William C. Reppart, and sister Mary Jane Pitts.

Homer worked as a surveyor and construction inspector overseeing construction of highways, bridges, railroads and utility projects. He worked on projects in Oklahoma, Kansas, Montana, and Alaska. Homer retired from the Kansas Department of Transportation in 1993. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He loved traveling, hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2017 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The family will receive one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Eskridge Cemetery, Eskridge. Memorial donations to Fresenius Dialysis Center can be sent in care of the funeral home.
