Ramón R. Aguilar, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother was called home to be with the Lord our Savior on Saturday, October 13, 2001.
Ramon was a resident of Bernalillo, a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, he was a proud World War II Veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Ramón worked for Sandia Base as a Security Guard from July 30, 1956 until he retired on June 30, 1978.
Ramón was preceded in death by a son, Martín R. Aguilar, a grandson, Chris Aguilar, three brothers, Desiderio Aguilar, Monico Aguilar and Ernie Aguilar and two sisters, Antonia and Tomasita.
Ramón is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Stella Aguilar of the family home, his son, Charles J. Aguilar and his wife, Barbara of Bernalillo, a daughter-in-law, Mannie Aguilar, his precious grandchildren, Lawrence, Charles, Martín Jr. and Roberta, one great-grandson, Joseph, three nephews, which he considered as sons, Lawrence Navarro, Tony Navarro and Jerry Nieto. Survivors also include his sisters, Aneda Aguilar, María Feliciana Domínguez and her husband, Dan, Consuelo "Connie" Montoya and her husband, Sefe, brothers, Desiderio Aguilar and his wife, Juliette, David Aguilar and Vicky and Johnny Aguilar and his wife, Frances, two sisters-in-law, Anita Miera and Lala Aguilar, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ramon will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him.
Visitations will be today from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM. Casket bearers will be Lawrence Aguilar, Charles R. Aguilar, Martín Aguilar Jr., David Aguilar, Desiderio Aguilar, Johnny Aguilar, Tony Navarro and Lawrence Navarro.
In lieu of flowers, at family's request, memorial contributions may be made to Santuario de San Lorenzo Restoration Committee, c/o Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, PO Box 607, Bernalillo, NM 87004.
