Services: Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2529 East Belmont Avenue, Fresno, CA, Dr. Richard L. Daniels, Pastor/Teacher, Officiating.

Ethel Lee Jones was born on August 17, 1934 at Clarksville, Texas, to the proud parents of Mosley Leonard and Juanita Lewis Behn (who preceded her in death).

Ethel was the fifth child of six siblings. Three sisters, Lafayette (Alice Faye) Hill, Rosetta Bills, Arneta Mack, and one brother, Mosley Leonard (Mel) Behn Jr. (all who preceded her in death); and her husband, Mr. Willie Travis Jones (who also preceded her in death).

She attended and completed her education in Clarksville, Texas. Her family moved to Fresno, California in 1954. They settled here in the community and eventually she joined the Fellowship Baptist Church, where she was baptized in 1957. Ethel became a devout faithful member and songstress at the church, she could "sang" and eventually became the Choir Director.

Besides Church, Ethel was an excellent seamstress, who could whip out an outfit in an hour's time and never needed a pattern. She could look at you and know the style and size you wore. Her ability to do that warranted her the opportunity to make her own designer-type clothes and giving fashion shows throughout the valley in the late 60s through 80s. She really missed her calling on that, but instead, she helped so many people whether she knew them or not.

Ethel was employed by Fresno State University of Fresno as a Baker for many years. She will be sorely missed for her infectious smile and laughter.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Peggy L. Littlefield (Husband Arthur Ray Littlefield, Sr.), one sister, Jennie Wesley; two grandsons, Arthur Ray Littlefield, Jr. and Erik Sean-Christopher Littlefield (Wife, Starsha); seven great-grandchildren, Tavonn Markus, Eboni Omminic LaRay, Raynell Demarr, Elijiah T-Narion Cesar, Allyssa Nyshani Gisselle Erykah, Zoe Elise Anna Lee and Houston Lee Edward Littlefield, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

Pall Bearers: James Mack, Ronnie Mack, Vicente Silagan, Gerard Johnson, Victor Thomas, and Troy Mack.

Honorary Pall Bearers: Josh Dansby, Arthur Littlefield, Sr., Arthur Littlefield, Jr., Erik Littlefield, Roger Henderson, Stacey Thomas, Johnnie Wesley and John Bills.

Services entrusted to the care of Jesse E. Cooley, Jr. Funeral Home, 1830 South Fruit Avenue, Fresno, CA

Home-going Celebration for Ethel Lee Jones -- Change of Address Notice:

I want to let you know I have moved. I was received by my Father who informed me that my new home is ready and I can move immediately.

Now that my home is ready, it is a beautiful site to behold. It is located in an exclusive area off a serene celestial shore, and it sits behind a beautiful pearly gate. Of course the streets are paved with gold and every day is Sabbath.

I've been told there is peace, love, joy and happiness. There is no more pain to bear, or strife or discontent. There's only sweet serenity everywhere. We all know that I can go on about my new home, but I have to get fitted for my new wings. Let Me Give You My New Address:

ETHEL LEE JONES
23RD PSALMS WAY
KINGDOM CITY, HEAVEN 21454

P.S. I do not have a telephone yet, but just call GOD and ask for me. If you do not have his number He is listed in the Bible on every page. Note: Don't grieve for me, for I'm free. I am following a path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call.

I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things I too shall miss. Be not burdened with time of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life has been full, I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your head and share with me, GOD wanted me now and He set me free.
