Lawrence Robert Towns, WWII Navy veteran and Purple Heart recipient, age 92, of Whites Creek, TN died, January 19, 2017, peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his life for 68 years, Ruth May Towns, and family.
Lawrence retired from the Ford Glass Plant where he worked as a Machinist for 30 years. After retiring, he enjoyed his favorite hobbies including fishing, playing his violin, and working in his machine shop.
He is survived by his loving wife Ruth May Towns; daughters Deborah Faye Ayers and husband Roy Dean Ayers, Beverly Gail Barron and husband William Ralph Barron; grandchildren Elizabeth Higdon, Leslie Robinson, John Robert Ayers, Audrey Idles, and Deana Lansden; great-grandchildren Leah, Preston, Anna Kate, Harper, Elijah, Caleb, Taylor, Kenneth, and Malachi.
Burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
