John R. Roundtree, 74, of Wenona, died at 1:57 p.m. Friday (Feb. 27, 2015) at Kindred Hospital, Peoria.
He was born March 4, 1940 to Thomas and Abby Roundtree Sr. He married Janet Loser on July 15, 1988,in Morris. John served with the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1961 where he was stationed on a ship in the Pacific Ocean. He was retired from Quatium Chemical in Morris where he worked 30 years. John was very active in his church, First Presbyterian in Wenona. He had several duties, including children's sermons. He enjoyed watching Fox News, his computer and was a member of Wenona American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; four sons, John E. (Kathy) Roundtree, Brian (Gina) Roundtree, Richard Davidson and Scott (Mary Thomas) Davidson; two daughters, Tamera (Rodney) Prestin and Susan (Rusty) Ness; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Earl and Darrell Roundtree and two sisters, Shirley (Tony) Tucker and Sandy Roberts
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Teri Woo; three brothers and four sisters.
