Obituary

Donald A. Brown, 70, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens and Military Honors. The Rev. Clinton Fields and the Rev. Billy Flowers will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. They ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , P. O. Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38101.

Mr. Brown, son of the late Vernelle Murray Brown and the Rev. Joseph Monroe Brown, was born in Dalton, GA and had lived in this area most of his life. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he was retired from Gandy Industries and attended Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include his sister, Pauline D. Nutt; granddaughter Scarlett Syme; great-grandchildren, Layla and Noah Syme, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Clyde (Lonieze) Williams, Joey (Becky) Williams, Charlie Nutt, Jr., Cecelia and Jeff Wilson and a host of other family and friends.
