Apparently despondent over ill health, Mrs. Jessie Fleming 36 years old, committed suicide at her home, 1233 G street, early yesterday by swallowing an overdose of sleeping tablets, according to Edward P. Doyle, deputy of Coroner R.E. Williams.
Mrs. Fleming's mother, Mrs. Ella Howard, said she arose at 8 a.m. and discovered a note stuck in the corner of a mirror in the bathroom which said "I can't get rid of the pains in my head and I can't sleep.'
Rushing to her daughter's bedroom, Mrs. Howard discovered she was dead.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Fleming is survived by her husband, Glenn; a son, Robert, seaman, first class, who is with the Coast Guard in the south Pacific; four sisters, Mrs. Lelila Smith and Mrs. Bernardine Woods, both of San Bernardino, Mrs. Wreath Vinton, Huntington Park, and Mrs. Opal Young, Eldorado, Kan.; two brothers, Sgt. Ernest Howard who is with the Army, and Pfc. John B. Howard of the Marine Corps.
Funeral services are pending and are in charge of Mark B. Shaw Co.
