Helen B. (Dahl) Anderson, 96, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, died at her home on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017.

She was born in Freeborn County, Minnesota, on Oct. 11, 1920, the daughter of Carl B. and Eva H. (Evenson) Dahl.

She married Glen E. Anderson on June 26, 1939, at the parsonage of the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Helen had worked at Wallace’s department store in Austin and Albert Lea. Together Helen and Glen owned and operated the Elbow Room in Albert Lea for several years.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.

Helen enjoyed playing a good game of 500 or Mexican train and bowling. She loved to entertain and was an awesome cook, baker and hostess. Helen and Glen also enjoyed traveling before he died in 2001.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Paul) Ziegenhagen of Little Canada, Minnesota; granddaughters, Carisa (Tim) Richner of Shoreview, Minnesota, Stacy (Brian) Drost of St. Paul, Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Holland Richner and Kathryn Richner of Shoreview; brother, Gary (Susan) Dahl of Kenosha, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Crystal Ferley of Albert Lea; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen in 2001; a sister, Lucille Lerum; and a brother, Carroll Dahl.

Interment in Graceland Cemetery.
