=====

Clinton Co cemetery database (2018) says, "Dayton OH, B. 3-23-1887 Springfield OH, D. 6-9-1948, Bur. 6-12-1948, WW1 Army Veteran." DISCREPANCY re year of birth: Note that cemetery database says he was born 1887, as does grave marker, whereas death certificate says he was born 1886. The certificate for a veteran's burial also says 1886. His 1918 draft registration card says 1887. The 1900 Fed Census (see image on this memorial) says March 1887, and it is the most convincing evidence of all, because he has an older sister born Oct 1885; his mother could not have given birth to two children 5 months apart, so that rules out Mar 1886 as a date of birth for Edward.
