"Edward Fitzgerald was found dead Friday morning about 9 o'clock in a lot near his home at Clintonville. He was found by a neighbor, Louis Fairchild, who had not seen him since the morning before, and who had gone to the Fitzgerald home to see what had happened. Dr. B. W. Phillips, who acted as coroner's physician, stated that he had died of a heart attack and had been dead for about twenty-four hours. He was born at Milford, November 15th, 1876, a son of John and Mary (Daley) Fitzgerald. He had spent his entire life in this vicinity with the exception of a few years in Detroit. He was by occupation a market gardener. He was well known in this vicinity and highly respected, and his death is regretted by a large circle of friends. He was married and is survived by one brother, Maurice Fitzgerald, of Detroit; one sister, Mrs. Mary Barnum of Buffalo, and by the following nephews and nieces; Paul Kiley of Detroit; Thomas Kiley, Kenneth Cooper, William Cooper and Miss Irene Cooper, all of Cooperstown, RD. The funeral was held Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Mary's Church at Cooperstown. Burial was made in the old Catholic cemetery at Cooperstown."
