Mr. Edward J. Kieper, 96, of Chilton Village Nursing Home, formerly of Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 2, at Calumet Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Arno Wolfgramm will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery.

Mr. Kieper was born August 8, 1889 in the town of Polar, Langlade County, son of the late William and Johanna Klopstein Kieper. He married Roselina Riemer on April 18, 1913 at Reedsville. Mr. Kieper was employed at Kurth Malting Plant in Manitowoc. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Clara Kieper of Brillion; a daughter, Mrs. Avella Rusch of Reedsville; a step-sister, Elise Kolpeck of Polar; seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1968, a daughter, a son, three sisters and five brothers.

Friends may call at Wieting Funeral Home, Reedsville, 4 pm to 9 pm Friday and Saturday at the church from 9:30 am to the time of services.
