"Mrs. Blanche May (GIFFIN) CHAPIN, youngest daughter of Nelson and Eliza (COX) GIFFIN, early settlers of Cass County was born in Volinia Township, May 20, 1873. Her early life was spent in and around Cassopolis where she graduated from high school with the class of 1890. She departed this life October 23, 1954 at the home of her niece, Mrs Lois KAHLER of Schoolcraft. She was united in marriage to Homer C. CHAPIN in 1906 who departed this life in 1933. Blanche is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Lois KAHLER and Mrs. Clara MUNSON and a nephew, Harley RUMSEY of Three Rivers. "
