A sister of Emma Darwin, Charles Darwin's wife; her dog was called "Tony".

In later life, she lived at The Ridge, near Hartfield Grove, near Ashdown Forest in Kent.

The gravestone is opposite the 'Darwin' crypt on the other side of the path.

NOTE:

Sarah Elizabeth Wedgwood (known as 'Aunt Sarah') (daughter of Josiah Wedgwood I and Sarah Wedgwood) [1776-1856], and therefore aunt to both Charles and Emma.

Sarah Elizabeth Wedgwood (known as 'Elizabeth') (daughter of Josiah Wedgwood II and Elizabeth Allen) [1793-1880], sister to Emma and first cousin to Charles.
