Lester (1899-1930), Elsie E. Lester-Paynter (1902-1947), Morton Lester (1906-Deceased), Virgil "Dee" Lester (1907-1977), Zetta A. Lester-Bishop (1907-1941), Naomi Byrd "Oma" Lester-Green-Stafford-Vance (1912-1991), Ruby M. Lester-Godfrey (1914-2005), Sylvester Lester (Deceased), Willard Lester (1916-Deceased), Alpha Imogene Lester-Adams-Christian-Riffe (1918-2014), Absalom "Luther" Lester (1921-1949), and James "Roy Lee" Lester (1922-2004).
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter born sleeping (1946-1946), an infant daughter, Darlene Adams (1944-1944), a young son, Linden Carroll "Buddy" Adams (1949-1954), and her loving husband of 61 ½ years, Vernon Junior Adams (1921-2004).
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Adams-Sturm & Lewis Sturm, of Pickerington, OH; grandson, Jeffry Sturm & Jennifer Sturm of Stuarts Draft, VA; granddaughters Heather Sturm-Colquett & Robert "Bubba"Colquett of Louisville, KY and Jessica Sturm-Stewart & John Edmonson of Delaware, OH; beloved great-grandchildren Max Sturm and Olivia Sturm; Maddie Colquett and Emma Colquett; Jake Stewart, Brady Stewart, Chloe Stewart, and Liam Stewart and Iris Edmonson; a special niece, Jerri McKee of Oceana, WV; nieces, nephews, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
She always held the Lord and her family close to her heart. She had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She loved to cook for family and visitors. As soon as they were full, she'd offer them another course. Her home was a welcoming haven for churchgoers, family, and friends and a summer retreat her grandchildren would never forget. She loved adventure and taught her grandchildren the fun of packing a bag and just going to wherever you'd end up.
Later in her life, she found her greatest joy while being a part of as many of her great-grandchildren's activities as possible. She was always ready to travel for visits and any time was a good time to buy them ice cream. She was proud of each of them and loved them fiercely, or in her words, "too much." She loved to celebrate each one of them, and they loved to designate special days to celebrate her too.
Friends may visit with the family Sunday morning, January 29, 2017, at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and service at 1:00 pm, interment to follow at Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, WV.
